The Soda Butte is located in the Lamar Valley and is considered one of the best trout streams in the US. It is right beside the road, and holds lots of fish. AND, it is in the beautiful Lamar Valley, home to upwards of 3000-3500 bison. So, the fishing it good, the scenery is excellent and animals abound.
Part of the upper Lamar Valley
That is Alicia in the Soda Butte. Scenery, fishing and a herd of grunting bison on the bench behind her. >>Click to see larger image.<<
At river level
She has one on!
The fish gives her a fight... and the bison don't care!
The reward....a cutthroat (see the orange marking under her jaw) .... we put them all back.
Afternoon weather developing
Another one!
Getting darker, but she keeps at it
Dark clouds and lots of rain over Alicia's shoulders. Probably time to go home after a good day of fishing. Smiles all around.
