Mommy, Can we play with the people?

While coming back from our hike to fish the Yellowstone, we happened across a small group of Bighorn Sheep. It contained a few adult females and 3 calves.  They were off from us by about 100-150 ft -- and not looking very interested in us at all.

Then, all of a sudden, in an burst of youthful pleasure, two of the calves sprinted towards us, and stopped, checking us out. They were obviously unafraid of us, but kept a bit of distance. The group of adults seemed to care less and continued to graze.

We think the conversation may have gone something like this.

Calf 1 to calf 2: Let's just go!
Calf 2: but what will mom say, she will kill us!
Calf 1: run, run, .. just go!

Calf 1: There she is, she looks really BIG
Alicia's look says: Crap, I hope Mom doesn't come charging!

Calf 2 to mom: Mom, is it okay if I stay -- likely reply. Yes, but don't touch or feed the people!

Calf 1: Act Naturally!

Calf 1 again (since he is big cheese here) -- see nothing to worry about, they are tame!
Alicia is frozen in place -- keeping an eye on mom.

Both Calves -- well that was fun. Now for some pictures!

Finally Alicia gets to move again -- into the darkening skies and high probability of rain
