Thunderstorm at Grand Teton National Park

The weather changed dramatically in about 1 hour (about 5 o'clock). I grabbed my camera and drove out to Antelope Flats, the Mormon Row and around Kelly, WY.

It was raining in every direction, but I was out taking pictures and never got wet! Lots of lightning, bursts of rain, crazy clouds, wind -- it was great! So I was able to incorporate two things that I love about the west: wildflowers and crazy weather.

And,  2 hours later, the sun was out and blue skies covered the mountains!

Bear with me, there are a few pictures.

Looking south towards Jackson

The Grand Teton buried in clouds and rain.

It is absolutely POURING about 500 yards away.
>>This is becoming my new style... get low and add foreground. When compared to just standing up and taking a picture, this view can be more dramatic.<<

More clouds, more rain

You can see the downbursts of rain

 Looking up the valley

Dark and foreboding

The entire valley over looking the Gros Ventre River (something weird happened to the image.)
